Made to measure
We approach creating a garment through our made-to-measure program as a collaboration between us and our customer. Typically, if a customer wants to have a garment made, it is because they are not finding what they want in the usual ready-made retail world. Our role is to find out what goals our customer is looking to accomplish and create a garment to satisfy that goal, whether it is for fit, style or both.
We do not take body measurements when creating an MTM garment, we determine the best pattern to start with by using try-on garments, and then determine how to improve that pattern for each customer. Changes to the pattern can include adjustments for proportion, asymmetry, posture, shoulder slope, etc. This method allows the customer to see and feel the garments taking shape and allows them to be an active participant in the process. A made-to-measure garment is not the same as a true bespoke garment where a new pattern is hand developed for each customer, however, our partner factory allows 29 individual modifications to a jacket pattern and 13 individual modifications to a trouser pattern, allowing for a very close second to bespoke tailoring at a fraction of the cost.
We currently offer hundreds of fabrics from several mills, including Vitale Barberis Canonico, Reda, Drago, Loro Piana, Ermenegildo Zegna, and Guabello. The selection varies in price from entry level to exquisite and covers all bases from summer to winter and solid to fancy. There are hundreds of linings to choose from, including both solids and fancies and dozens of button styles, including resin, horn, metal, mother of pearl and Corozo.
Garment consultations are done by appointment only. Appointments typically take anywhere from 45 to ninety minutes.
